Renters need more protections, not less. We need a government who cares about people over corporate profits, and Doug Ford and his pals have shown time and time again that they are not it.

Please Help us renters get what’s right. We need rent control back! And landlords raising rents when they haven’t done anything to the property in years. We need all those things brought back! When Doug Ford cancelled Rent Control it messed everything up, look at all the homeless people there is now.! Doug Ford is a liar he hasn’t done anything he said he would! He’s only for the rich! If this goes through, it’s not just private landlords and small property owners that will be conducting random evictions for those who don’t know the rights, that’s gonna happen rapidly, but the large corporations, they won’t care who they’re evicting, for the past three years there has already been something called “renovictions” going home with the landlords. They claimed they’re gonna do renovations to your unit and then they either don’t let you back in unless you pay an exorbitant price, or they affect you for not living there. Some even make up excuses saying that a family member is gonna move there. Meanwhile, they renovate the unit and rent it out to someone local. I understand them, wanting to move up the price of long-term tendencies, but honestly, if they had more willingness to rent to people who can actually pay the rent and need a house and it would be good tenants instead of simply looking at someone’s bank account, maybe they would be able to make better choices and have better tenants that actually actually paid. Well, Ford is building homes for middle income and above thinking that they are “affordable homes“ for people to buy… The people below low income and disability in the elderly are falling by the wayside and have been for the past six or seven years. No one’s paying attention to them, and the homelessness is rampantly and rapidly increasing Since the pandemic began. If this stop, everyone middle income is gonna be homeless. The only reason why he’s appeasing all these developers and builders, is because he wants to line their pockets because they’re the ones that voted him in and paid for his campaign. That’s literally it. All Ford is, is a puppet.

But also, if the NDP and liberals don’t start throwing together, most importantly, it’s why Ford keeps winning and getting in. Breaking the bitter hate Ontario has against the liberal party that the PC party has been stirring for the past six or seven years, has to stop. The previous liberal leadership is not gonna be the next liberal leadership in the province. Same for the NDP. But if the two out of three parties do not throw together militantly against the BC party, Ontario was paying worse than it already is. Pro healthcare, and under funding education, as well as having everyone below middle income fall to the wayside? That’s not sustainable. He’s acting like a mini Trump and people that used to vote for him, that didn’t in the last election, stupidly chose not to vote at all. That and the people that didn’t vote or never vote in the provincial elections. Money from the campaigns needs to go into promoting voting. And doing it online, where everyone is, not on commercials. Only boomers and older Still have cable.
